amazing weekend!

I missed teacher training this past weekend.

What an insanely FUN and exciting weekend! I can't even begin to accurately describe how fun this weekend was. My husband was in one of his best friend's wedding. If you've never been to an Indian wedding, GO! Run - don't walk! It seriously was the most fun wedding I've ever been too!

Festivities started Wednesday for us with the Mehndi party. This was the henna party. Here are my after shots - PRE-scrape.

I don't really have a good post-scrape picture... It is quite a few shades lighter though now. Basically they draw the henna on you. You wait an hour - then they seal it with a lemon-sugar syrup. You wait as long as you can before you scrape off the dried paste. Then you're left with a beautiful Henna stain on your hand.

Friday my husband and I were supposed to have "date day". However, we were so wrapped up in final touches for getting ready, that it was mostly us driving around, super stressed, and eating our lunch in the car. Definitely not what I wanted - BUT I spent time with him and that's all that matters! Nothing is ever perfect.

I actually am really upset with the tuxedo rental place they used. It was literally like they didn't even measure him. We spent half of what we spent on the rental fixing their mistakes. It was just a mess. But, everything worked out. I gave a lot of pep speeches that night! lol

Saturday was the wedding. We began our day at 7AM and ended sometime early Sunday morning for a few hours of sleep before Sunday's brunch. It was long, but FUN! Well worth the lack of sleep!

Here are a few pictures from throughout the day...

Oh, and then there is this... This one is from our wedding almost 6 years ago! It's funny how time flies! The entire time the night before the wedding as we were drinking beers with Chester in the Penthouse, all I could think about was how much time has passed since we had all been together like this... almost 10 years! it's insane!
